Dino Fontana

Owner

A life entirely dedicated to business, starting when he was very young in his family’s Olive Oil company. He brought it to the deserved international success, until when it became the biggest exporter in its sector.
With his own experience, he decided to start a new adventure in the wine production.
The love for challenges, agricultural activities and the territory with which he is emotionally attached, will lead him to a new undisputed success.

Eugenio Fontana

Co-owner and Sales Manager

After a degree in Economics at the Univerity of Pisa and a Master in Business Administration he started to work in the family’s Olive Oil company. The passion for wine, always existing, became concrete in 2008, when he decided, together with his father, to take over the Buonamico company in Montecarlo, Lucca.
He gave his contribution to the birth of this ambitious project, just restyling the company, adding new excellent wines among the company’s selection and carefully analyzing the market.

Paolo Lapini

Production Manager

He works as the Production manager at Tenuta del Buonamico since the last ten years. He is a Land Surveyor, and he considers the vines as his second home. He coordinates the staff in the cellar, being the trade-union between the company and the winemaker, during all the phases of the winemaking and the managing of the final product until the bottling process.
He is a vital part of Buonamico, because he deeply believes in the project and in the success of the produced wines.

Alberto Antonini

Winemaker and Agronomist

He graduated in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Florence, and after a stage at the University in Bordeaux and several working experiences in prestigious companies both in Italy and abroad, he became winemaker and co-founder of the “Gruppo Matura” , a Consulting Company, in 1997.
Now he has customers in the main Italian wine regions, in Europe and in countries such as Argentina, Chile, Australia, California and South Africa.
Many of the wines produced by the companies where he works have been highly rated by the main international wine magazines.

Valentino Ciarla

Winemaker

Born in Velletri, he graduated in Oenology at the University of Florence. His curiosity and his passion pushed him to look for several work experiences in Switzerland, South Africa and France, before he decided to focus to Italy, where he worked in Luni hills, in Cinqueterre, at Marchesi Antinori’s and finally for the “Gruppo Matura”. He currently makes wine in the most important wine regions: Tuscany, Umbria, Sicily, Lazio and Emilia Romagna. He is also a teacher in several sommelier courses for FISAR, AIS and ONS.
